New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): West Bengal Pradesh Congress chief Manas Bhunia, who met Congress President Sonia Gandhi here on Wednesday assured support for the new government to be headed by Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee in the state.
Manas Bhunia informed Sonia Gandhi that the State Congress has sent a letter to Mamata Banerjee that the Bengal Congress will extend all support to run the government and to run the show because it is the verdict of people of Bengal.
The TMC won 227 seats out of 294 in the legislative assembly, while the ruling Left Front, led by the Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPM), garnered only 62 seats. (ANI)
