Czech Republic Senate President calls on President Patil

New Delhi, May 9 (ANI): The visiting Senate President of the Czech Republic, Milan Stech, called on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Monday, where the duo discussed issues of mutual interest.

 

He also called on External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna earlier in the day to take forward the bilateral relations and realise the full potential of trade ties between the two nations.

 

Milan Stech visited the Rajghat this morning to pay floral tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

 

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, will call on Stech later in the day.

 

Stech will meet the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, at his official 7 RCR residence at around 5: 30 p.m. today.

 

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will then host a dinner in honour of the visiting President at the Hotel Taj Palace around 8 p.m.

 

Stech is expected to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Tuesday morning.

 

He will emplane for Agra on Wednesday morning to attend a programme there, and then fly to Mumbai to participate in programmes there on Thursday and Friday. (ANI)
