London, May 1 (ANI): The secrets behind the enchanting hairstyle sported by royal bride Kate that wowed the world have been revealed by the hairdresser himself, who said he had to fight back tears as he saw her walk up the aisle.
James Pryce, who has known the Middleton family for eight years, described the job as the "gig of the century" and said the Duchess of Cambridge had been "calm and collected" in the morning as she prepared to marry her prince, reports the Telegraph.
Pryce practised the hairdo using a 10.50 pounds fake tiara bought on Chelsea's King's Road, and roping in the salon's personal assistant as a stand-in for the bride.
The Duchess' hair was swept back from her face and pinned discreetly at the back in a 'demi chignon' for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
Her long locks were curled in soft "romantic waves" behind her shoulders, showing the full detail of her dress. The centrepiece was the 1936 halo Cartier tiara, loaned by the Queen.
Pryce, of the Richard Ward salon, said: "For me, it was just a fantastic opportunity and such an honour. It's been very emotional actually.
"Really like most guys I bottled up all my emotions. For me really, just being in the abbey and seeing her come through those doors was a very touching moment and I was really sort of fighting back the tears. It was very, very special.
Pryce said the bride had a vision for her look from the very start, adding: "She was always very sure of what she wanted to look like." (ANI)
