Washington, Apr 27 (ANI): Katie Couric, the first female solo news anchor, has decided to quit the job, with reports saying that she is now looking forward to engaging herself with "multi-dimensional storytelling."
Although she has not decided on her next job, she said she is "looking at a format that will allow me to engage in more multi-dimensional storytelling."
CBS News had earlier declared about the departure in a statement.
"There's a lot to be proud of during Katie Couric's time at the CBS Evening News. CBS News, like Katie herself, is looking forward to the next chapter," it added.
With the start of "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric" on September 5, 2006, Couric became the first female solo anchor of a weekday network evening news broadcast. (ANI)
