Islamabad, Apr. 13 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh really wants to resolve important bilateral issues.

Lauding Dr. Singh's intentions to have good relations with Pakistan, Gilani said Singh was a "sensible and sane" person who has often expressed that he wanted to do "something really positive" for both countries.

Gilani was responding to a question by a senior civil servant of the 94th national management course who quoted private sources as saying that Singh was personally spearheading the move to promote good relations with Pakistan.

He said Singh was keen on resolving important issues like Kashmir, Siachen and Sir Creek.

The News further quoted him, as saying that the Indian prime minister had also expressed a desire to counter common problems and challenges such as poverty, hunger and unemployment.

Gilani said he had met Singh four times officially - in Colombo in 2008, Sharm El Sheikh 2009, Bhutan 2010 and India 2011, and several times unofficially. (ANI)
