6.8-magnitude quake strikes north east Myanmar

Yangon (Myanmar), Mar.24 (ANI): A earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale struck northeastern Myanmar on Thursday night, shaking buildings as far away as Bangkok. However, no tsunami was reported.

 

The quake struck along Myanmar's borders with Thailand and Laos, about 110 kilometers from the northern Thai city of Chiang Rai. The city sustained a little damage, Thai television reported.

 

The 6.8-magnitude quake was just 10 kilometers deep, according to the US Geological Survey. (ANI)
