Delhi gears up for the preparation of Republic Day

India is going to celebrate her 59th Republic Day on January 26. The foremost national festival after the Independence Day on August 15, the RD reminds the day of the year 1950 when India adopted a formal constitution with the declaration of a Sovereign Democratic Republic. From then onwards Constitution became the guiding light of legislative, executive and judicial functionary of our country.

The Republic Day is celebrated in all administrative units of state, districts, and educational institutions, and also the capital city Delhi where thousands of school children, army jawans, and artists participate wholeheartedly. People from all sections come forward to cheer the flag bearers by gathering at the Rashtriya Rajpath of the national capital.

As there is only 10 days left for the final show, preparation for the celebration is in its full swing. School children come from all parts of the country are practicing and rehearsing for their cultural fest.

Apart from it there are also hundreds of artists form varied cultural zones who are ready to showcase cultural heritage of different states in a long ‘Republic Day Parade’. The colourful cultural celebration just gives an idea about the ‘unity in diversity’ of India bringing every corner of the nation in one platform at the Rajpath.

One of the most important features of this grand national event is the military pared constituting all three dominions; different regiments of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force march past.

Also the day brings honour to the o National Cadet Corps (NCC) to participate in the drill after a month long practice and training. This group of students belong to the selected NCC cadets from all over the country, also are in their pace to preset a spectacular display.

This is a significant day as it is the day that marks a noteworthy transition from a British control state to a Republic with the adoption of the Constitution of India, which gives sovereignty to the people of India.

Security Concern

Considering the national importance of the event the security has been tighten in the capital with police and special force guarding all check points and places of importance like airports, railway stations, market complexes.

There are many reasons to celebrate this day but the most important one delves in being the citizen of free and republic India.
