Ahmedabad, Jan 13 (IANS) Patidar leader Hardik Patel, returning to Gujarat after six months, has indicated he will campaign against the BJP in assembly elections if the community's demand for quota in government jobs and educational institutions was not met.

Without referring to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Patel said: "I have no political ambition but I will come in the way of the ambitions of those who attempt to trample on the aspirations of Patidars."

He told a Gujarati TV channel from Udaipur: "My fight will continue more aggressively and I will stand up against anyone who has done injustice to the community."

He added, referring to those killed in police firing during the agitation: "The BJP government has done nothing for the martyrs of our 16-month agitation. How can we forget that?"

"I will not support any political party in the elections but will surely work against those harming the interests of the Patidars," the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti convenor added.

Patel, externed by the Gujarat High Court for six months in a sedition case filed by the government, returns on January 17 on completion of six months during which he stayed in Udaipur in Rajasthan.
