New Delhi, Mon, 26 Sep 2016 NI Wire

Reasonably priced smartphones are always loved, and people are on the lookout for such devices that offer decent features along with pocket friendly price. And of late, we have two devices that have caught everyone's attention as the ultra-affordable smartphones. One is Lenovo owned Motorola's Mot E3 Power, while the other is Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime.

It is to note that the Moto E3 Power comes with the USP of better lasting battery and has already received a warm welcome from the buyers. The first sale of Moto E3 Power was a smashing hit, Lenovo is said to have sold around 100,000 units within 24 hours of the sale. The device has indeed created history as it is the first device to have got such sale figures on the very first day in the history of Flipkart.

On the other end, we have the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime which released in August. The device has some amazing features to offer at an affordable price. It is a little higher than Moto E3 Power; you can buy the Redmi 3S Prime for Rs 8,999 while Moto E3 Power comes for Rs 7,999.

Well, with such mighty deals in front, it is justified to get a little confused concerning the better buy. So, let us here understand the two in detail and figure out which device you should actually invest in.

Design And Display

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime has a metallic unibody that makes it look classy. On other end, Motorola has made some noticeable changes in its design structure with Moto E3 Power. It has given the water-and-dirt resistant body with oleophobic coating on the display sans the metallic body. The devices share the same display size & resolution - 5-inch HD display with 294ppi.

Camera

Next is the camera, where Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime seems to be justifying its extra price with a better camera. It has 13MP primary camera which has f/2.0 aperture, 5-physical lens, PDAF and HDR, - for selfies it comes with 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture in addition to 36 smart beauty profiles. The Moto E3 Power gives you 8MP main camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera. Here, the Xiaomi device certainly has an edge.

Processor, RAM and storage

Redmi 3S Prime comes powered by 1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 430 processor, along with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable through microSD card up to 128GB. Moto E3 Power has 1GHz MediaTek quad-core CPU, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. It's pretty clear that in terms of performance also, Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime leads the Moto E3 Power.

Software And Add-Ons

In terms of the software, Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and Moto E3 Power both run Google's newest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. Moto device comes with stock Android, Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime runs the custom MIUI 7 which gives a customized experience. As for additional features, the Redmi 3S Prime comes with fingerprint scanner. Both the devices support VoLTE, 4G LTE, and dual SIM cards. Well, here we don't see much difference; however, with customized software - Redmi 3S Prime seems to be leading.

Battery

Battery is the prime attraction of Moto E3 Power which offers five hours battery life in 15 minutes of charge only. It features 3,500mAh battery, while Redmi 3S Prime sports a bigger 4,100mAh battery but this one takes three hours to get completely charged and can last a full day with wide usage.

Verdict

The two devices have their own uniqueness and value of money. However, if we look at them from a comparative perspective; the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime sure enjoys supremacy and an edge over Motorola's Moto E3 Power. Redmi 3S Prime leads with features like fingerprint scanner, superior battery, superior performance and of course camera, and all this at an extra price of Rs 1,000 is certainly worth.

Moto E3 Power begs to have faster battery charging expertise, along with water and dust-proof design and most up-to-date software updates.

But do you think, it still manages to overrule the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime? We leave that completely on you!
