Intex - an Indian phone manufacturer spanned around from manufacturing computer peripherals. The company initially started off with making feature phones but now has stepped into the competitive market and is making Android smartphones. It certainly won't be wrong to call the company as one of India's major smartphone makers. It has even manufactured TVs and of late launched an Android smartwatch in a proffer to increase its product range.
And there are yet again back with something specific to offer. After launching Aqua Lions 3G smartphone, they have now introduced their novel entry-level - Aqua Joy smartphone. It is said to be one among the most affordable feature smartphones made so with a price of Rs. 2,799.
It's already available on the company's website and will be soon out in the market for sale. But before that let us go through its specifications in detail so as to understand what this budget phone has to offer.
Let's begin with the design
Intex Aqua Joy has a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display and with pixel density of 233ppi. It looks quite appealing and the body looks extremely finished.
Moving on to other specifications
The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM). It is backed by 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731C processor that is paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It even supports expandable storage through microSD card (up to 32GB).
If you talk of the camera, then this smartphone has 0.3-megapixel front and rear cameras. The rear snapper even comes with LED flash.
Intex Aqua Joy has a 1450mAh removable battery that offers up to 5 hours of talk time and nearly 160 hours of standby time. The device measures 125.00 x 63.90 x 10.10 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 110.00 grams. Talking of the connectivity options on this smartphone, the device gives you options like GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, 3G, Bluetooth, Micro-USB and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Though it's a dual SIM phone, it backs 3G only on one SIM card slot.
If you're an app lover, Intex Aqua Joy does have a lot in offer. It comes loaded with apps like Matrabhasha, Newshunt, 360 security, Opera Mini and Hike. You can choose the smartphone in two color variants: Black and White.
It is notable that Intex company had earlier in the week launched Aqua Lions 3G smartphone which was available at a price of Rs. 4,990. Aqua Lions 3G happens to be a dual-SIM smartphone which runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display and is backed by a quad-core processor 1.2GHz, clubbed with 1GB RAM.
Intex has high hopes from both the devices; however, Intex Aqua Joy seems to be a better buy considering the specifications we've come across so far.
The price is quite affordable and the features are likeable – it can indeed win hearts of those who are looking for budget smartphones which can offer desired functionality as well.
