Teams won full appreciation on the third day of the ongoing 5th Senior National Hockey Championship

Teams exhibits an array of excellent hockey skills at the 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Women) 'B' Division

Saifai (Uttar Pradesh), 22 April 2015: The teams won full appreciation on the third day of the ongoing 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Women) 'B' Division.

- Hockey Patiala drubs Hockey Gujarat 10-1
- Steel Plant Sports Board beats Hockey Chhattisgarh 2-1
- Hockey Madhya Pradesh trounces Tripura Hockey 17-0
- Hockey Rajasthan outwits Bengal Hockey Association, wins the match 3-0
- Association of Indian Universities wins 11-0 against Hockey Puduchery

Hockey Patiala gave a wonderful start to the day as it thumped Hockey Gujarat 10-1 which was followed by a close contested match between Steel Plant Sports Board and Chhattisgarh Hockey where the latter lost to the former 1-2. Continuing the day with one more win it was Hockey Madhya Pradesh who blanked Tripura Hockey 17-0. In the third match Hockey Rajasthan beat Bengal Hockey Association subsequently and the last match saw Association of Indian Universities slamming 11 goals on Hockey Puduchery to win 11-0.

Hockey Patiala had a field day against Hockey Gujarat as they rained goals in the entire game and registering a convincing win. It was Sapna's four goals helped the team take win with a huge goal margin. It was Captainn Kulwinder Kaur who started the day's proceedings when her field effort in the 7th minute bore results. Within two minutes Sapna was seen in action as a brilliant field goal from her doubled the lead for Hockey Patiala. Kulwinder Kaur went one up as she scored the team's third goal in the 18th minute. Before the end of first half, Hockey Patiala added two more goals to the tally and ended the session with 5-0 on the scoreboard. Right into the second half Hockey Patiala continued from where they left in the first half. 36th minute registered the 6th goal for Hockey Patiala and it was Sapna again on the job. While Hockey Patiala was playing the game in the D of the Hockey Gujarat, the latter managed to score their sole goal of the game in the 53rd minute when Captain Champa Rathwa took it on herself to do some damage control. But with eth form that Hockey Patiala was playing it got difficult for Hockey Gujarat to stop the rampage as the former went onto win 10-1.

In another match between Steel Plant Sports Board and Hockey Chhattisgarh was an exciting clash as both teams were seen trying to create opportunities and score but the defence stood tall and strong. Steel Plant Sports Board proved took the edge in the game as they won 2-1. The game started Steel Plant Sports Board taking the initial lead in the 6th minute leaving the opponents stunned. This was followed by them doubling their score in the 29th minute and ended half time at 2-0 lead. Undeterred by the scorecard, Hockey Chhattisgarh tried making a comeback when Babita Lhilhare scored a brilliant field goal. the rest of the session Hockey Chhattisgarh tried equalizing but failed resulting in Steel Plant Sports Board taking the game 2-1.

The match between Hockey Madhya Pradesh and Tripura Hockey was a spectacular show as the game yielded 11 goals by Hockey Madhya Pradesh while also ensuring they did not concede a single goal to the opponent. The goal score was boosted by Rakhi Prajapati's 5 individual goals followed by Jyoti Pal's 4 and Nutan Topno's 3. The match started with two consecutive goals in the 3rd and 4th minute by Jyoti Pal started the goal scoring spree for Hockey Madhya Pradesh. This was followed by the team adding 7 goals before the first half ended and the score card read 9-0 in favour of Hockey Madhya Pradesh. The second session saw a similar play by Hockey Madhya Pradesh as they added eight more goals coming at regular intervals as the convincingly beat Tripura Hockey 17-0.

In a one-sided match between Hockey Rajasthan and Bengal Hockey Association it was the former which stamped its victory 3-0. Hockey Rajasthan kept the opponents at bay in the entire game not allowing them to cash in on any single opportunity. The game was high on speed and attack as Hockey Rajasthan looking for the initial break-through broke the defence chain of Bengal Hockey Association to score their first goal in the 11th minute. Proving to be the sole goal scored in the first half Hockey Rajasthan was leading the game 1-0. Right into the second half Hockey Rajasthan doubled the count in the 35th minute as Sita deflected the ball into the nets. Trailing the game Bengal Hockey Association tried making a comeback by increasing the tempo of attack but failed to convert. Hockey Rajasthan were third time lucky in the 40th minute as yet again Bengal Hockey Association's defence gave-in to the pressure of the attack of the opponent resulting in them scoring their third goal and which proved to be the winning goal.

The last match of the day saw Association of Indian Universities slamming 11 goals on Hockey Puduchery who on the other hand was unable to score in the entire game and went on to lose 0-11. The intent of the team was clear as in the very 1st minute when Shahsibala scored through a field effort. This was followed by the lead getting doubled in the 9th minute when the penalty corner was hit hard past the goal keeper by Ramandeep Kaur. As Hockey Puduchery was trying to recover from the early jolts, Association of Indian Universities added the third goal in the 14th minute when Jaspreet Kaur made no mistake in converting a clean pass in the D. With 3-1 lead already, Association of Indian Universities added five more goals before the end of first half and were leading the game 8-0. The second half unveiled the same plot for Association of Indian Universities as they continued their rampage on the field by adding regular goals to the tally. 41st minute and goal no. 9 was scored by Jaspreet Kaur. Before the game ended the team scored two more goals in the 42nd and 52nd minute and registered a convincing win of 11-0.
