Aam Aadmi Party came to power by making the people's sentiments: Satish Upadhyay

New Delhi, 20th April: Addressing a press conference today BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay said that Aam Aadmi Party came to power by making the people's sentiments and its respect as big issue but it is irony that even if we desist from internal fighting the conduct of AAP MLAs and the Government are against the public morality and established administrative traditions.

Shri Upadhyay said that BJP Delhi Pradesh will meet the Lt. Governor Shri Najeeb Jung and demand that he should stop the administrative arbitrariness started by Arvind Kejriwal Government. The farmers should be paid compensation immediately after the assessment of damages. Delhi Police should be directed to stop the arbitrary behaviour of AAP Ministers, MLAs and their family members and FIR lodged against them. The MLAs should also be prosecuted in accordance with law. Minister Shri Jitendra Tomar should be dismissed immediately. Shri Upadhyay declared that if this arbitrary behaviour of Government is not curbed then the BJP will go between the people on this issue.

Shri Upadhyay said that few days ago Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal had announced in a meeting of the farmers that they shall be paid compensation at the rate of Rs. 20,000 per acre. But today even after 10 days, the farmers are not able to harvest their crops because the Delhi Government has not made the assessment of damages. Chief Minister had said that our MLAs from rural areas shall report about the damages but no such report has been received. It seems that the Kejriwal Government is now playing with the sentiments of the farmers for political mileage.

Similarly, Shri Kejriwal had paid compensation of Rs. 1 crore to the family members of the policeman killed during a movement for getting political advantage but in the case of Dr. Dinesh Sharma of Chacha Nehru Hospital who died of Swine Flu, no compensation has been paid and the Government is not ready to accept this case as death due to Swine Flu. It is surprising that the Chief Minister who used to talk about public sentiments will offend the sentiments of a family in grief. It may be mentioned that Dr. Singh died of Swine Flu in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

Shri Upadhyay said that in order to maintain his hegemony over the party Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has appointed 21 MLAs as Parliamentary Secretaries which is nothing but a political corruption to appease MLAs. Government had earlier announced that there will be no financial burden due to the appointment of these Parliamentary Secretaries. Now, the Government has announced that all the 21 Parliamentary Secretaries will be allotted rooms in the assembly premises. When rooms shall be allotted, it will be followed by staff and vehicle. It will put heavy economic burden on the Government.

Mentioning about the Delhi Dialogue Commission Shri Upadhyay said that this Commission was formed by the Government in the name of transparency but it is under controversy due to appointments of political supporters in it. The way in which senior officer Shri Ashish Joshi was removed for opposing political appointments shows that there is no transparency in the working of of Kejriwal Government. BJP has demanded the Lt. Governor that only IAS officer should be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of this Commission.

Shri Upadhyay further said that during the 49 days tenure of Aam Aadmi Party Government in 2013 and also during the present two months tenure the people of Delhi have seen that how the AAP MLAs behave in anarchic manner. On the one hand the people have not forgotten the conduct of the then Minister Shri Somnath Bharti and Ms. Rakhi Bidlan and on the other hand the cases of present MLA Ms. Bidlan, Shri Rituraj Govind, Shri Manoj Kumar, Shri Sanjeev Jha and Shri Akhilesh Tripathi who have taken law in their hands has shocked the people.

The case of Minister Shri Jitender Singh Tomar involved in forged degree controversy is known to all but Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not taking any action in this case. Similarly, the Government is trying to suppress the cases related to another Minister Shri Asim Ahmad Khan and MLA Shri Naresh Balyan accused of distributing liquor. The Government which is violating political traditions cannot be expected to take action against MLAs like Sh. Amanatullah Khan and Sh. Sahi Ram.

Shri Upadhyay said that MLA Ms. Rakhi Bidlan was involved in many controversies during her last tenure and is again under fresh controversy after becoming MLA. She and Shri Rituraj were accused of assaulting some people on her Birthday party and now her Sister-in-Law has accused that Ms. Rakhi's brother is misbehaving with her at MLA's instance. It is surprising that the Chief Minister wants to assign Women and Child Welfare Departments to such MLA. The silence of the Aam Aadmi Party on the car gifted to Ms. Rakhi Bidlan is also surprising.

Similarly, the people of Kirari have accused MLA Shri Rituraj Govind of murder. MLAs Shri Manoj Kumar, Sanjeev Jha and Akhilesh Tripathi are not far behind in instigating riot by their workers for the purpose of pressurising the police administration.
