New Delhi, Thu, 16 Apr 2015 NI Wire

New Delhi, 15th April: While specking in a rally Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari said "Government will not undertake land acquisition for private organizations". Opposition creating confusion, Land Acquisition Bill allows only essential acquisition.

BJP Delhi Pradesh organized a big Kisan Rally in Dwarka on 15th April. This rally was addressed by the Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari for clarifying the policy of Central Government on Land Acquisition, apprising about the efforts being made by the Central Government for the development of farmers and about the compensation being given by the Central Government for damage by untimely rains.

Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay presided over the rally. MPs Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Pravesh Verma, Shri Maheish Girri, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, MLA Shri Jagdish Pradhan, Kisan Morcha President Shri Vinod Tyagi, Pradesh General Secretaries Shri Ashish Sood, Smt. Rekha Gupta, former MLAs Shri Sat Prakash Rana, Shri Rajesh Gehlot, Shri Pradyuman Rajput, Shri Dharmdev Solanki, Shri Ajit Singh Kharkhari, District Presidents Shri Vijay Pandit, Chaudhary Chhote Ram, Shri Satendra Singh were also present on this occasion.

Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari said that the Land Acquisition Law which Shri Narendra Modi Government is formulating takes full care of farmer in trust. Government will not undertake land acquisition for private organizations. Under this law the land can be acquired only for defense, rural infrastructure, cheap housing and government industrial corridors. Government will pay compensation up to four times higher than the prevailing market prices and the proof of Government's intention is that during last 10 months Central Government has paid compensation up to thrice above the prevailing market rates while acquiring land for Transport and Power Ministries. Government is also ensuring that along with compensation every farmer family gets one job. To protect farmers it has been decided that land can be acquired only within one kilometer of Rail line for industrial corridors.

Shri Gadkari said that it is a commitment of Shri Narendra Modi Government to give work to every hand and irrigation water to every farm. We will make farmers self dependent who will not have to see towards sky for every crop. We will take good education to every village so that rural people too can contribute to nation building.

Addressing the rally Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay said that this country has seen that the parties which claim to be working in the interest of farmers misused the Land Acquisition Act for the companies run by the Son-In-Law and other builders especially in the states like Haryana and Rajasthan. Under the provisions of this Bill the farmers shall get price which will be four times higher than the market price and it will also save the farmers from the fraud as witnessed in the states like Haryana and Rajasthan. The acquisition is to be done through the State Government and the states ruled by opposition parties have the option not to use this law.

Kisan Morcha President Shri Vinod Tyagi said that BJP has been working for the welfare of the farmers of Delhi and we shall submit our demands before the Central Government for paying damages to the farmers.

MP Shri Ramesh Bidhuri said that the opposition parties are misleading the people on Land Acquisition Bill due to political frustration. The reality is that this Bill not only provides for compensation to the small and marginal farmers but also guarantees employment to a member of every family.

MP Shri Pravesh Verma said that I am also from a farmer's family and was brought up in villages and as Member of Parliament I have clearly seen that this Bill does not contain any provision which will empower the Government to undertake projects which are not in the interest of the Nation. Today we are pleased to see high rise buildings and hotels in Dwarka but forget that this land was acquired by the Congress Government at dirty cheap rates for the DDA and allotted to the societies of rich people. The proposed law does not allow such things to happen again.

MPs Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Shri Maheish Girri & MLA Shri Jagdish Pradhan also addressed the rally. They said that no Government acquires land at its sweet will. The land is acquired by the Government when it is needed for development works. But the country has witnessed that how the Government under the patronage of Smt. Sonia Gandhi played the role of land mafia to enrich her son-in-law.
