BJP is indulged in doublespeak in Delhi, alleged AAP

New Delhi, Sun, 18 Jan 2015 NI Wire

The BJP cannot fool the people of Delhi by indulging in doublespeak on the issue of drug menace by continuing its alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal on the one hand and shedding crocodile tears on the other hand.

The transfer to punish the Enforcement Directorate official who had questioned Punjab’s revenue minister Bikram Majithia for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore drug scam, makes it clear that the BJP's central government is a partner in crime with its ally, Akali Dal.

Not only has the ED official been punished by the BJP's central government, but it has also come to light that his phones were being tapped and he was threatened to reveal contents of the chargesheet to be filed in this case.

The Aam Aadmi Party challenges the BJP to make its stand clear on the involvement of Majithia in the drugs racket.

If the BJP is really serious in eradicating this menace, as the Prime Minister had stated in one his radio addresses, how can the BJP continue to be a part of the Punjab government in alliance with the Akali Dal ?

The BJP must answer what is its priority is – the future of Delhi or its opportunistic alliance with the Akali Dal ? If the BJP is at all serious about checking the growing drug menace, it must end its alliance with the Akali Dal, or else it will be held responsible for being a partner of the party which will convert Delhi into a narcotic capital.

The AAP is determined tackle this problem head-on, and not let it get a stranglehold on our society. Recently, a list of 250 government schools were compiled by the Delhi Government where drug addiction related complaints have been received. This is a shocking revelation, and shows that our law-enforcement agencies have failed to stop the advance of drug addiction from Punjab to Delhi.
