Amit Shah confirmed as BJP Party Chief

New Delhi, Saturday, 9 August: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Council meeting is going on today in Delhi. An in the meeting Amit Shah confirmed as BJP Party Chief. There are around 2500 party workers attending the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Council meeting in New Delhi.

Top leader of BJP is attending the meeting being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi and PM Modi will finally address the meeting. Top attending the meeting are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, veteran leader LK Advani and senior leaders Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley.

It is noted that this is the first meeting of the  party's national council after BJP's victory in the Lok Sabha polls in this year.

Mr. LK Advani will also address party leaders and top leaders; Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and other leaders of the party are also taking part.

Earlier  Rajnath Singh resigned from the post of party chief after joining the PM Modi's cabinet. Mr. Amit Shah taken over the the charge of BJP chief on July 29th.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, "Some people may wonder why Amit Shah (for BJP chief's post)?", while addressing to the meeting in Delhi.

Mr Shah will form his new team that will lead the party after his appointing a party chief.
