New Delhi, Tue, 22 Jul 2014 NI Wire

East Delhi Mayor Ms. Meenakshi today inaugurated the special camp for sanctioning of building plans and regularizing constructions as per the Building Bye Laws/Master Plan of Delhi-2021 in the areas of East Delhi at its Patparganj headquarters. Standing Committee Chairman Mr. B B Tyagi, Leader of House Mr. Ram Narayan Dubey, Chairman of Works Committee Ms. Lata Gupta and East Delhi Municipal Commissioner Mr. S Kumaraswamy were also present on this occasion.

Ms. Meenakshi informed that under this scheme, zonal officials and town planning department officials will remain present in the camp at the EDMC headquarter for sanctioning the building plans on every Monday. She directed the officials to maintain proper coordination in this regard.

Mr. B B Tyagi said that getting the building plan sanctioned is a tedious task but during this camp, the concerned officials will facilitate the citizens as they would get this service at a single point.

Leader of House Mr. Ram Narayan Dubey said that the EDMC has prepared a check list of required documents for sanctioning of building plans so that citizens do not face any harassment.

East Delhi Municipal Commissioner Mr. S Kumaraswamy said sanctioning of building plans take nearly 15 days if applied through online, while only 10 per cent of the total applications are delayed. This camp will ensure even more early sanctioning of building plans, thus encourage authorized constructions.

He informed that 13 building plans were passed today and two properties were regularized. Five fresh applications were also submitted that will be sanctioned by the next week. 30 people visited the camp without adequate documents and are likely to revisit later on.
