Since the time of its inception Border Security Force has been in the lime light for its glorious record in the field of sports. The prevalent sports culture in the Force always inculcated the spirit of healthy competition among its Officers and Jawans. The encouragement of sports activities has borne fruits which is evident from the performance of BSF players in national as well as international events. In, recognition to the outstanding performance, the BSF sportsmen have so far been awarded with Padamshree, Arjuna National Adventure awards.
M L Batham, Inspector General (Training) of BSF graced the occasion as a Chief Guest of opening Ceremony of XXIX BSF Inter Frontier Aquatic and XXXIX Inter Frontier Cross Country Competition today at Rustamji Swimming Pool, Chhawla BSF Camp, New Delhi. BSF Band Salute and a colourful parade BSF frontier teams from all over India were also organized to honour the chief guest.
The Competition was commenced by the formal declaration of 'The Opening of the XXIX BSF Inter Frontier Aquatic and XXXIX Inter Frontier Cross Country Competition 2014 by the Chief Guest. Chief Guest released colourful balloons and addressed the Swimmers and Cross Country participants and lauded their efforts and motivated them to excel in the competition.
In this Competition, 441 Competitors were participating from 11 BSF Frontiers.
During last year, in XXVIII Inter Frontier Aquatic Competition 2013, BSF Rajasthan Frontier won the Winner Trophy in Spring Board Diving, BSF Jammu Frontier won the Winner Trophy in Swimming and in High Board Diving. BSF South Bengal Frontier won the Winner Trophy in Water Polo.
