PSLV C-23 launched with five foreign satellites

In a major achievement in the space science, India scripted history when it successfully launches PSLV carrying five satellites from four countries.

With the launching of the satellite, now India has emerged as a major player in this field.

The four countries which satellites have been sending to the space are France, Germany, Canada and Singapore. The major four attachments with the PSLV during its space odyssey are 14-kg AISAT of Germany; NLS7.1 (CAN-X4) and NLS7.2 (CAN-X5) from Canada each weighing 15 kg; and the 7-kg VELOX-1 of Singapore.

Needless to say, this was the first space mission of the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today visited the First Launch Pad at Sriharikota. He was briefed about the PSLV C-23 Launch Vehicle Mission by senior scientists.The Prime Minister also visited the GSLV-Mk III Vehicle Assembly Building and was briefed there by senior scientists.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, and the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Shri Jitendra Singh, were also present.

Earlier, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, ISRO, gave a brief presentation to Shri Narendra Modi on India's space programme, in the presence of senior scientists.
