New Delhi, Feb.25 (ANI): Indian film director and producer Anurag Kashyap's short film "Traffic" will be shown on February 27 at MTV. Based on a true story the producer tried to generate awareness to eliminate human trafficking from the society.

MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) is a NGO of MTV working at their pace by increasing awareness about this cause. MTV will be screening a show of a series of five short films. Each film will be 30 minutes long and will focus on the real-life story of five people who endured the nightmare of human trafficking.

Talking about the show and the concept, Anurag said, "Traffic as a concept is extremely close to my heart. It is an eye-opener for the audience, especially the youth who are blissfully unaware of the atrocities that thousands of people go through."

All of these five short films are based on true human trafficking incidences. The first of which is about sexual trafficking. The rest cover Domestic Servitude, Bonded labour, Child labour and trafficking through marriage, through which the hard face of human trafficking is portrayed.

Most of these films are shot in Banaras, Mumbai, Delhi and Goa, and are made with the hope that they are impactful enough in the fight against human trafficking.

Neiru Singh Gyani, a social worker from Gwalior who has played the role of a social worker in one of these short films, said the inequality among the humans is not restricted to anyone in the country, but it spans around the whole world.

She said that the Human Trafficking Day is observed on 10th December 1947 and since then, till now, this evil is on, and the human trafficking needs to end.

She opined that due to no education, poverty, and helplessness, lot of people sell their loved ones in this trade, and added that to stop human mistreatment, it is important to have lots of awareness campaigns from the government's side.

The promos of this are out on Social Media and Anurag Kahsyap himself is anchoring the show as well as producing it to add to his unique flavours.

Gyani thanked Creative head Anurag Kashyap, MTV Exit creative director Nikhil Taneja and producer Faizal Malik of Light form Production Pranjulaa Singh and the entire team for great work and the opportunity. (ANI)
