New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) A 13-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour here in the capital, police said Wednesday.
The incident took place in Harsh Vihar area of east Delhi Monday evening.
The girl told police she had gone to Anand Vihar, also in east Delhi, with her neighbour for some work.
"After spending some time in Anand Vihar, the accused took the girl to a room in Harsh Vihar on the pretext of having some work and raped her and threatened here with dire consequences," a police officer said.
The accused later fled the spot leaving the girl there.
The girl somehow managed to reach a police station and informed officials about her ordeal. A case has been registered after the girl's medical report confirmed rape, the officer said.
The neighbour, whose name was not revealed by police, is still on the run.
