Google has unveiled its brand new search engine update 'Hummingbird' with upgraded algorithm in order to provide the users with better search answer experience.
Hummingbird is considered to be the most surprising alteration to Google’s search engine algorithm and would be more responsive to longer and complex queries. The company reportedly integrated the modification last month without disclosing, which affects 90% of Google searches.
A senior vice president for Google, Amit Singhal said that Hummingbird is the major renovation to the search engine as it revised the way it indexes websites three years ago as part of a redesign called Caffeine, news.com.au reports.
Singhal further added that the redesign will affects the analysis of approximately 90 percent of the total search requests received by Google.
According to the report, this major change in the algorithm could also alter the traffic status on the site and is likely to enhance the price of Google ads tied to search requests if websites whose rankings decline under the new system feel they have to buy the marketing messages to attract traffic.
Singhal explained that Hummingbird has been implemented with an objective to provide Google's search engine a better hold at understanding concepts instead of simply words as people have become so inclined on the search site that they now enter lengthy questions in the search box instead of a few words, the report added.
