One of the biggest releases of the year 2013 is Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, which is based on the issue of land scam. However, the tone of the film is not serious. Film is a satire, comedy.
Story:
Story of the film takes place in a small village of Haryana. Harry Mandola is rich industrialist who drinks a lot. His daughter Bijlee went to Oxford University to study where she met Baadal and fell in love with him.
Family of Matru has been a loyal servant of Mandola's for generation. Though he goes to Delhi University to study LLB, he cannot find a job. So he returns back to join his family profession of serving Mandola. He carried out all the wrong works for Mandola.
Bijlee returns back to village after graduation and expresses her desire to marry Baadal. When Mandola comes to know about this and realizes that Baadal is the son of a powerful politician in that region, Chaudhari Devi, he gets excited about how much this can benefit his business.
Matru loves Bijlee but never tells her about it.
Films takes a turn following certain events and a simple union of two young people becomes complicated and how these events changes lives of Matru, Bijlee and Mandola is the story of Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola.
Pre Review:
If you are planning to start your year with some laughs and good acting, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is for you. Though the film revolves around the love story of main characters, it is also a satire on system and politicians.
There are no questions asked about acting when it comes to Pankaj Kapoor. He is exemplary in this movie even better then his role in Blue Umbrella. Anushka is real hot (dekho magar pyaar se). She has played her part well.
It is a little surprise to see Imran in a rustic Haryanvi munda type role but he fits just right in. He is the main attraction of the movie and lives up to the expectation.
Aryan Babbar and Shabana Azmi have done exceptional jobs in their respective small roles.
Vishal Bharadwaj is into everything. His direction is perfect, so is his story and music. The story of the movie is strong and tickles you from time to time. Music is superb.
There should be a special mention of cinematography. Catching rustic Haryana village and the people to perfection, Kartik Vijay might get a lot of appraisal for it.
