Islamabad, July 29 (IANS) US Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to visit Pakistan July 31 to take part in the bilateral strategic dialogue and discuss key issues including drone attacks in the country, a media report said Monday.

The Dawn said Kerry had accepted an invitation to visit Pakistan, extended to him by Sartaj Aziz, advisor on national security and foreign affairs to the Pakistani prime minister, on the sidelines of the 20th Ministerial Meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum July 2.

Kerry was previously expected to arrive in Pakistan July 29. However, the trip was later postponed.

Sources told Dawn that the condition of Kerry's wife, who suffered a stroke earlier this month, was improving and that the US secretary of state would soon arrive in Pakistan.

According to the new itinerary, Kerry would hold meetings Aug 1 with the Pakistani president, prime minister, and advisor for national security and foreign affairs.

Kerry would also meet the top military leadership and will take part in the bilateral strategic dialogue.
