Bejing, July 6 (ANI): Defence Minister A.K. Antony has invited his Chinese counterpart, Gen. Chang Wanquan, to visit India in 2014 as convenient.
The Chinese Defence Minister has accepted the invitation.
Antony, who is presently on an official visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese Defence Minister held talks with his counterpart Gen. Chang Wanquan and also called on Premier Li Keqiang.
He also met State Councillor Yang Jiechi.
The two Defence Ministers held talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere and had an extensive exchange of views on a wide range of defence and security issues.
They reaffirmed that defence exchanges were an important facet of the India-China strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity," said a joint statement issued at the end of talks with Chinese leaders by Defence Minister AK Antony in Beijing today.
Antony expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Minister of Defence of the People's Republic of China to him and his high level delegation during the visit. (ANI)
