Washington, Apr.15 (ANI): Companies representing Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will reportedly come together under the same management.
French billionaire Arnaud Lagardere is interested in acquiring Excel Sports Management that represents golf players such as Woods, Celtics ace Paul Pierce and Derek Jeter and Mark Teixiera from the Yankees, the New York Post reports.
The report said that Lagardere Group's sports and entertainment division, Lagardere Unlimited took over Gaylord Sports Management Group last year, which represent Mickelson, Nick Faldo and Bronson Arroyo.
According to the report, sources from the company reveal that a deal has been reached, but is yet to be declared official.
Lagardere Unlimited's move indicates signs of a shift towards owning media and sports rights.
Woods and Mickelson are likely to play together under the Lagardere banner after their bitter rivalry at the Masters, the report added. (ANI)
