New York, Apr. 10 (ANI): Michigan's basketball player Spike Albrecht, who scored 17 points in 20 minutes in his team's loss against Louisville, took the opportunity that his sudden fame has afforded him to reach out to Kate Upton.
The freshman backup, who electrified the crowd at the Georgia Dome during Monday night's NCAA title game, tweeted "hey saw you at the game last night, thanks for coming out!"
He concluded his message to the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model by writing, "Hope to see you again," accompanied by a smiley face, the New York Daily News reported.
Upton, who was clad in a maize V-neck t-shirt at the game, was born in Michigan and had tweeted about the Wolverines occasionally during the Maize and Blue's run to the title game, an 82-76 loss to Louisville.
Upton told BleacherReport.com that her family is "die hard" Michigan fans - "that's an understatement. We have our family reunions for the Ohio-State Michigan (football) game every year." (ANI)
