Top Bollywood directors unveil their joint venture, 'Bombay Talkies' in Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 26 (ANI): Renowned directors of the Hindi film industry on Monday unveiled the first look of their upcoming flick, 'Bombay Talkies', which is a compilation of four short films made by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johan and Zoya Akhtar.

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar on this occasion said," It is very rare that four filmmakers come together for one project and I hope we set a precedent and this happens much more often. So the ethos of four filmmakers coming together is to celebrate cinema and that's what we have done on this very momentous celebration of 100 years of cinema."

The anthology film, which is part of the celebrations marking the 100 years of Indian cinema, sees four directors come together to show four different stories about moviegoers and the impact of cinema on the lives of people.

Bollywood director, Anurag Kashyap emphasised on this, while speaking to media persons in India's showbiz capital, Mumbai.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was not shy of a word, he said, "The occasion to make this film, is 100 years of cinema. Each individual film is somewhere from within us, which is about the impact of cinema has in our everyday lives and how it is so much part of an Indian fans life."

It is not the first time that multiple directors have come together for a project. The year 2007 saw the release of the movie 'Dus Kahaniyaan', which was another anthological film.

'Bombay Talkies' stars Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, actress Rani Mukherjee, scintillating beauty Katrina Kaif and actor Nawazuddin Siddique, amongst others. Amit Trivedi has created the music of the movie.

The movie will hit the silver screen across the country on May 03. (ANI)
