Sohail Tanvir says give Pak's rookie quicks time to settle into international cricket

Islamabad, Thu, 28 Feb 2013 ANI

Islamabad, Feb 28 (ANI): Fast bowler Sohail Tanvir has claimed Pakistan's rookie fast bowlers especially Junaid Khan should be given proper support and time to settle into international cricket following their dismal performance during their 3-0 series Test defeat against South Africa.

Tanvir said during an interview with PakPassion.com that country's quicks are all new and in the learning process, adding that it cost Pakistan a lot when Junaid Khan became unfit as he was the perfect bowler for the African conditions.

The left-hand quick added Junaid has the ability to swing the ball both ways, and in South Africa you need a swing bowler more than a pace bowler, adding had Junaid been fit, perhaps the result of the 2nd Test would have been different as he could have supported Saeed Ajmal from one end.

Tanvir further said he doesn't think they should criticise anyone so quickly because international cricket is not easy, especially when you are playing against the world's number one team.

Tanvir added they have to give the young bowlers time, let them settle into the international arena. (ANI)
