Sohail's departure to further dent 'fragile' Pak's chances to bounce back against marauding Proteas

Islamabad , Mon, 11 Feb 2013 ANI

Islamabad, Feb 11 (ANI): Pakistan cricket has suffered a setback to its hopes of making a comeback to international cricket in the Test against South Africa, after the departure of injured middle order batsman Haris Sohail to Pakistan, further weakening an already fragile middle order.

The departure of Sohail, who would not be replaced in order to accommodate Imran Farhat in the playing XI, would be a blow for the team management and coach Dave Whatmore, The Nation reports.

According to the paper, Pakistan should have replaced Sohail with inform left-hand bat Umar Amin. Amin has the potential to bat both as an opener and as a middle order batsman.

Pakistan's fragile middle order consists of out-form Younus Khan, Azhar Ali, Misbah-ul-Haq and Asad Shafiq.

The paper urged the PCB and the team management to go with Faisal Iqbal as he had scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket. (ANI)
