New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS) Airports developer and operator GMR Infrastructure, a part of GMR Group, Wednesday said it received Rs.415 crore from national carrier Air India on account of airport charges for both Delhi and Hyderabad.

"Air India is an important business partner. Air India has made large payments over the last two months to clear the outstanding dues to GMR Group," a company spokesperson said.

"We are hopeful Air India will clear the remaining dues in an expeditious manner to reach a regular payment status."

However, the company did not divulge the total amount due from the national carrier.

According to the company, for operations at Delhi airport, Air India paid Rs.340 crore and for airport charges at Hyderabad, it paid Rs.75 crore.

The operational cost at the two airports includes diverse expenditures such as landing, parking and housing and other aviation related charges.

Air India in the recent past decided to shift its hub from Mumbai to Delhi, and made Indira Gandhi International Airport's Terminal-3 its hub. The airline plans to open lounge and other facilities at the terminal.
