DLF ends 5 year association as IPL Title sponsor, will promote other sports

DLF, real estate Company of India which was title sponsor of Indian Premier League for the fast five years has ended its sponsorship.

Company did not renew its contract whose last date was July 28. Title sponsor had the first right to refusal for title sponsorship and they have decided to end it.

DLF is now working to promote other sports in India. They believe IPL gave them the required brand recognition and recall in India.

Rajeev Talwar, Executive Director of DLF Group said, "Our IPO came in 2007, a year before the IPL started. We were very aggressive pan-India then. We had good presence in all big cities. Currently we enjoy significant reach, brand recall and presence across the country. We believe that we have been able to achieve the desired objectives to a great extent".

Company has invested Rs. 250 crore on the Twenty 20 league in the past 5 years.

"We are looking out for what is the big platform in the country. We want to promote different sports for a good, clean and healthy living, which we do in our all the townships also," Talwar added.
