Facebook Message Panel Change: bringing it close to Facebook email

Few days back Facebook announced a new change in its message panel. And with this upgradation, which will be available for users in coming weeks, it looks like Facebook is bringing its message panel close to full fledge email.

The new look has a email type layout where a list of recent conversation and messages appear on the left hand side and when you click one on of it, it expanded view with full conversation is opened in the right hand side.

Also with this it allows users to have the option of adding multiple photos and emotions (smiley) in their messages.

There is a search panel where users can search messages by sender's name or keyword.

Keyboard shortcuts have also been added for easier navigation. (The full list of shortcuts can be seen by typing Alt + Q on a PC or Control + Q on a Mac).

Previously it made an email address with @ Facebook.com for everyone. The mail sent to this address appears on your Facebook inbox. And now with the change in the looks it appears that Facebook is trying to bring Facebook messages close to Facebook email.
