NE exodus: Pakistani hands behind the doctored MMS

New Delhi, Sun, 19 Aug 2012 NI Wire

Central government has said that Pakistan is responsible for the making panic among the northeast people for their exodus from various parts of the country. Government is all set to raise the issues before Islamabad as Pakistan is trying to create trouble for India by inciting people inside the country.

Union home secretary R.K.Singh said that an incident that happened in Myanmar about three months back was being circulated to incite people, adding people will soon realise that nefarious things were going on.

Even the old photographs of victims of various cyclones were produced as victims of Assam violence and Myanmar incidents. These MMS were widely circulated among the people, which created trouble for exodus of northeast people from various cities.

The government has imposed a 15-day ban on bulk SMSes and MMSes to counter the rumours, which led to thousands of people from northeast people leaving Bangalore and some other cities fearing attacks on them.

Police have arrested sixteen people in Bangalore for assault and spreading rumours leading to flight of people from the northeast.

Sources say that home ministry has banned close to 100 website for carrying objectionable material.
