Government is committed to make Delhi green

The Chief Secretary, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, P.K.Tripathi has exhorted delhiites to enrich Delhi?s green legacy this monsoon and plant more and more trees in order to make Delhi green, clean and beautiful city. Tripathi was inaugurating the ceremonial plantation by planting saplings at Garhi Mandu near Wazirabad Signature Bridge today. More than 200 School Children also planted trees on this occasion.
On the occasion, Tripathi said that the Government had planned last year to plant a million trees in the capital under a mega campaign "Delhi Plants A Million Tree this Monsoon". He said that now the time has come to naurish those planted trees and nurture them and also to plant more trees to make it a regular exercise.
Shri Tripathi said that Govt. has made available various species of plants at about 100 places such as petrol pumps, milk booths and RWA offices in the capital for the ease of public which can take the plants free of cost and plant and nurture them near their houses.
The Chief Secretary said that Government wishes to make this campaign a public campaign and everybody should cooperate in this programme. The Managing Director of STC has announced that STC will donate 30000 plants of different species to Delhi Government to make a part of green campaign and plant them along with other plants in the capital to make Delhi a green and beautiful city.
