Terrorist attack on air base in Pakistan, six militants killed

In a one of the major terrorist attack in Pakistan, terrorists have dared to attack on one of the important air base Kamra situated in Punjab province. Six heavily armed militants launched the attack and in a major gun battle, Pakistani commandoes gunned down six militants including one-security personnel in more than three hours of firing. Sources say that now the situation is in control.

According to sources, militants targeted and attacked on PAF Kamra airbase, which is situated in Attock district some 70km northwest of the Islamabad on 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Militants wearing military uniforms attacked the airbase and had successfully crossed over three check posts before the security forces stopped them on the fourth check posts.

There was a heavy firing between militants and security forces resulting huge smokes at the site of airbase.

It has been said that militants tried to target the Saab-2000 surveillance aircrafts but security forces checked them in doing the same.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf have condemned the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
