Hamid Ansari takes oath as 14th Vice-President of India

Mohammed Hamid Ansari became the 14th Vice President of India on Saturday.
Hamid has been elected as the Vice President for the consecutive second time and is only one after Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Earlier, in a one-sided election Ansari fetched a remarkable 490 votes out of the 788 valid votes cast in the elections.
His rival from NDA, Jaswant Singh could only manage to get 238 votes.
Ansari got more votes than he had got in the 2007 election. This time he was backed by Congress.
