Delhi Police seeks Abu Jindal's custody extension

Abu Jindal Hamza, an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (L-e-T) activist and a key suspect in 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack 2008, who is at present under Delhi Police custody is set to be presented before a Delhi district court as his remand period in expiring today.

But, Delhi Police, who is interrogating to Abu Jundal for his relationship with Pakistani based terror organizations is likely to seek the extension in its custody so that it can made further interrogation.

Besides Delhi Police, other intelligence agencies of India such as IB, NIA, RAW and Anti Terror Squad (Mumbai Branch) is also seeking his custody.

According to latest report, Abu Jindal has been taken to the Safdarjung Hospital for a medical examination before being presented in the Tiz Hazari court today.

Jindal would be presented before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav, media reports.

Jindal, who was arrested June 21 from the Indira Gandhi International Airport after his deportation from Saudi Arabia, has confessed to being in the control room in Karachi and amongst those directing the 10 terrorists in Mumbai.
