Mock drill in Delhi Metro added commuters plights
The sudden applied break for almost all the metro route created a state of disorder among the commuters. The reason given to the commuters was different like earthquake, fire and other however all this was just a mock drill.
According to Delhi Metro officials the mock drill was started at 11 a.m. and ended at 11:50 a.m. and covered all the stations. It was a joint effort my Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Fire and Police and other agencies so that its preparedness for any emergency can be measured.
The drill was conducted at Central Secretariat, Shahdara, Pitampura, Badarpur, Kirti Nagar, Chandni Chowk, Akshardham, Karol Bagh, Noida City Centre, Guru Dronacharya and Dwarka Sector 11 stations, catching commuter?s off-guard.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority conducted the drill to check if the Metro staff were ready to tackle emergencies such as earthquakes, bomb blasts and terror attacks.
Commuters were not aware regarding the mock drill and hence they were shocked and find some uneasy for the whole episode. As the mock drill remained for an hour and after that service remains continue. However commuters have to face a lot of troubles, as it was not informed in advance. Some of commuters were aware about the drill yet they faced troubles as its timing was not in their mind.
