Former Indian Captain and First World Cup winner for India, Kapil Dev, who had broken the tie with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) few years ago for joining as a board member in a private sponsored Indian Cricket League (ICL), has once again returned to his original kitty, BCCI President N Srinivas informed to media.

According to Srinivas, BCCI has got a request letter from former Indian captain regarding to back into BCCI camp, which the cricket regulator of India has accepted viewing his immense contribution in Indian cricket.

Kapil, who few years ago had accepted the offer of Essel Sports Private Limited (ESPL), a private firm which had formed the short version of cricket at domestic level known as Indian Cricket League (ICL) for being a board member. BCCI had opposed the move of Essel and asked Kapil and Kiran More, who was too one of the board members, to quit the rival firm, which duo had not accepted.

Later, to counter ICL, BCCI's erstwhile Vice President Lalit Modi had formulated Indian Premier League (IPL), which got immense success and still going on successfully while ICL could not achieve enough success, as it was claimed.

The sulking BCCI had kicked out Kapil and Kiran More from its camp and stop their all grants and pensions.

Later after request of Kiran More, he was included into BCCI camp and BCCI began to grant him amnesty.

Now, after Kapil's request, BCCI has also accepted his request and entitles to grant amnesty.

The amnesty entitles Kapil to Rs 1 crore as a part of BCCI's one-time benefit scheme and he will also start receiving pension once again. His arrears will also be cleared.

According to sources, Srinivasan has taken personal initiative in bringing the 1983 World Cup winning captain back in the BCCI fold.

Kapil has finally relented on applying for amnesty after fruitful discussions with the BCCI president, said BCCI.
