The proposed Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test ISEET is all set to be implemented from the year 2013 according to proposal of Ministry of Human Resource Development. But this proposed system has brought a lot of confusion to the students and some of the IITs are also opposed to this idea. Some IITs have announced to conduct their own test.

As per the new scheme there will be only test for IITs, NITs and IIITs that will also fall into ambit of this proposed ISEET.

Let us know about proposed ISEET 2013.

It will replace all the other examinations like IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other concerned tests for engineering colleges funded by center.

In this new system IIT will take care of academics while operational arrangements will be made by CBSE.

In the proposed ISEET 2013 there will be two papers of 3 hours duration each. The first paper will test the basic understanding of subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics while the second paper will check the advance level of understanding in the same papers. The schedule of the exam will remain unchanged.

The significant feature of this proposed ISEET is that the marks obtained in 12th will also be taken into consideration.

However some IITs are opposed to this idea and have expressed their concern saying it may affect the quality of students getting admission into IITs and other prestigious institutions.
