Great efforts required for restoring people faith in Ayurveda: Karan Singh

Former Health and Family Planning Minister and M.P. Karan Singh said that Ayurveda is the most ancient and holistic way of treatment. He said that there is a challenge for experts to do a lot for the betterment of Ayurveda in terms of research so that incurable disease can be cured by it. He was addressing a one day national workshop on "Preventive Health Care in Ayurveda with Special Reference to Lifestyle related Disorder" organized by New Delhi Municipal Council in Delhi. Several other experts and scholars were present on the occasion.

Karan sing said that a lot has to be done to create faith of people in the Ayurveda. He urged to experts that they should have to invent the effective medicine for the treatment of incurable disease so that people can restore faith in the system.

Replying to a question regarding the double standard treatment with Ayurveda in India, Karan Singh said that a lot has been claimed by Ayurveda for the cure of many incurable disease but the lack of evidence are the root cause behind the lukewarm responses of people towards Ayurveda.

Archana Arora, chairman of NDMD said on the occasion that Doctors practicing in Ayurveda should abstain from any false claim about the cure of disease with the same. They should avoid incomplete knowledge during treatment so that people can get faith with Ayurveda.

There were four session organized in the workshop in which many experts from the rest part of the country participated and highlighted the fact that how the changing life style of people has been affected their health.

Many experts from Ayurveda and health care including Speaker Delhi Assembly Dr. Yoagnand Shastri, Secretary NDMC, D. Santoshi, Dr. V.V.Prasad, Director National Ayurved Vidyapith and World Health Organisation consultants Dr. D.C. Katauch were present in the workshop.
