Congress is to improve its performance after Antony's report

The state Congress has taken the debacle of Congress in the recently held assembly election, which is likely to mend it according the findings of the Antony's report. Party has been now eyeing on the local bodies elections in which it is expected to improve its performance.

It is noted that after the major debacle of the Congress party in recently held assembly elections in Goa, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, a committee was set up by Congress under the chairmanship of Defence Minister A.K. Antony. Goa where party was in power, witnessed its poor performance and reached to 9 from 21 and BJP come back in power.

Now the state Congress is all set to mend and improve its performance in the coming local bodies election.

Sources say that the forthcoming panchayat elections and the Cortalim byelection would be an opportunity for a reality check for the Congress.

State Congress president Subhash Shirodkar says that the report has shown us what went wrong. There are certain measures, which we have been asked to undertake. We will also be sending regular reports to the party high command about the developments here, he added.
