No secret deals with Maoist for release: Ramans singh

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman singh denied any secret deal with the Maoist for the release of Sukma District Collector Alex Paul Menon. He reiterates that everything was in public domain and nothing is secret. CM with two mediators was addressing a press conference after the successful release of Sukma Collector after the 12 days drama of captivity.

Raman Singh said that the agreement with the Maoists is not a secret document and has been put in the public domain on the website. He was reacting to reports of Maoists claiming that the Chhattisgarh government had agreed to release some prisoners from jail.

Singh said that a committee has been formed headed by state chief secretary, which has started its work. The committee will look into matter and case registered against the innocent people across state jails.

After 13 day of his abduction, finally Sukma district collector Alex Paul Menon reached his home from the captivity of Maoist. He was released on Thursday after the various level talk between statge government and Maoist through mediators appointed by both the side.

It is noted that Menon had been abducted from a forested area in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh April 21. The Maoists took him away after murdering his two bodyguards Amjad Khan and Kishen Kujur.
