Vergence Labs, that was founded by Erick Miller and Jon Rodriguez at the end of 2011 has developed a prototype of sunglasses that can image and can record video. At present they are looking to raise fund so that they can make this sunglasses into market and enable consumers to use their spectacles.
This spectacle even has the facility to share the photos and videos to social networks (Facebook, Twitter etc.) and YouTube, via Vergence own site YouGen.TV.
Though people might think that these Glasses will be bulky it is not the case, they are very trendy and like ordinary specs. These have a magic button that converts between regular spectacles and electric-powered sunglasses (It uses chromatic shifting conductive glass). Even the tint of lenses can be controlled for indoor or outdoor conditions
The glasses store all the data on a micro SD card. At present the battery life is 2 hours. The prototype is made with a 3D printer.
They are also trying to add Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G in near future to the glasses that might allow users live streaming, and direct sharing.
Vergence Labs intends to sell these glasses at $199 (pre-order) and $299 (retail version).
They are looking for funding through the crowd-funding platform Kickstarter.
