World's most widely used web browser has a new name, Google Chrome after long years. Though Chrome took the top position before for a weekend in March but this time it might last for long.

Chrome was launched in 2008 and since then it has moved up rapidly, May 20 2012 stats showed 32.76 percent of usage while at the same time Explorer usage was 31.94.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer reigned for years and enjoyed 45 percent of usage in 2011 has now dipped to around 31.47. While Chrome usage in 2011 was around 20.

Google worked hard to promote Chrome as the best web browser and planned out many campaigns and ads to promote it and that worked out.

Mozilla Firefox the third competitor is way below these two web browsers despite serious changes that they brought in. Its usage on May 20 was 25.47 percent while a year ago it was 29.08.
