Karnataka SSLC exam results declared; girls once again outshined boys

The Karnataka Education Board has announced the results of Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams 2012 on Thursday. Higher education minister Vishveshwar Kageri announced the results.

The results that can be viewed in many sites including Karnataka State Educational Board's official site: http://karresults.nic.in or http://sslc.kar.nic.in

The results can also be obtained by sending a message in the following format to 9243355223

karsslc<11 digit reg. no.>

Example: karsslc 20129999999 and send it to 9243355223

The results would be activated from 12:30 p.m. on May 17, 2012.

This year's result went to 76.13% success as against last year's 73.91% in which Udupi district has registered first place in the state, followed by Sirsi, Hassan and Bidar.

As per trends, this year too girls surpassed boys by bagging 81.16% success while boys have registered 71.73%.

The supplementary exams will be held on June 18.

SSLC is often regarded as the first important examination that a student undertakes and it holds after the end of term of study at the secondary school, after which a student can study at a higher secondary school, also known as Pre-University Course (PUC), for two years.
