Nuvi 40LM and 50LM GPS devices launched by Garmin in India at around Rs 9,000

Garmin Corporation, which is the world's largest maker of GPS devices has entered the Indian market and is targeting the affordable market segment by the launch of its GPS products.
It has launched nuvi 40LM with a 4.3-inch screen and 50LM devices with a 5-inch screen and they are priced at Rs 8450 and Rs 9990 respectively. They are expecting to sell 20,000 units of these devices till the end of the year.
These devices will be equipped with free lifetime maps including that of Singapore and Malaysia that are considered as the most visited places by Indians. These devices will have an inbuilt Indian accent under Text-to-speech feature.
Some of the features are:
- Junction View (that helps drivers avoid last minute maneuvers)
- Lane Info that will guide to the proper lane for navigation
- Highway Mode that will inform about the approaching exist on a highway
Garmin Corporation is planning to expand its operations in India and is hoping to enhance its share in Personal Navigation Devices market by 30 percent.

In I purchase the GPS device then as per U, the devices are equipped with free lifetime maps. What it means ?
After purchase I require internet connection separately for activating GPS.
