A Raja grants bail; set to move after 15 months

Former Telecom Minister and DMK leader A Raja, who was in jail for his alleged role in infamous 2G Spectrum allocation case, today finally became successful in receiving bail from a special CBI trial court in Delhi.

He got bail after 15 months, the longest term in this case as other accused in this case were already on bail.

Raja, who was seeking bail from a long time, had filled a petition once again seeking his bail which was granted by special CBI judge OP Saini.

After hearing arguments from the CBI and defence counsel, Justice Saini today granted him bail, which was opposed by CBI prosecutors stating that charges against A Raja belong to very serious nature.

Raja has sought bail on the ground of parity with other 13 co-accused who have already secured it from the Supreme Court, Delhi high court and the trial court.
