Chennai, Dec 11 (IANS) Yama, the god of death, has featured prominently in several successful socio-fantasy Telugu films such as "Yama Gola", "Yama Leela" and "Yamudiki Mogudu". The legacy hasn't yet stopped as Telugu filmmakers continue to make films featuring Yama in a pivotal role.

IANS lists three such films that are lined up to release soon.

"Yamudiki Mogudu": The film, which is named after yesteryear Telugu superhit of the same name, stars Naresh and Richa Panai in the lead roles. Sayaji Shinde plays Yama in the film which revolves around the hero and his humorous expedition to Yamalok. Interestingly, director E. Satthi Babu has introduced a fictitious family of Yama in the film, which also stars Chandra Mohan, Krishna Bhagwan, Tanikella Bharani, Ramya Krishnan and Bharath.

"Yamaho Yamaha": Popular Telugu actor Sri Hari turns Yama in this film, which is directed by Y. Jitendar. Touted to be a socio-fantasy flick, "Yamaho Yamaha" was shot majorly in the US and an important part of the story deals with Yama's visit to the US. Sairam Shankar, Sanjjana and Parvati Melton are playing the lead roles, while comedian M.S. Narayana will be seen in an important role.

"Nenu Chala Worst": This film, directed by Venkat Pampana, is not a socio-fantasy film, but will portray Yama in an important role that will be played by Telugu actor Tarakaratna. If you're given one last chance to turn wrong into right, forms the crux of the story which will highlight details about why Yama permits someone to go back to earth, when originally he's destined to go to hell. The film also stars Bhanu Priya, Murali Mohan and Jayaprakash Reddy in key roles.

Earlier this year, another socio-fantasy Telugu film titled "Daruvu", featuring Tamil actor Prabhu as Yama, was released. It featured Ravi Teja and Tapsee in lead roles.
