Shimla, Fri, 02 Nov 2012 ANI

Shimla, Nov 2 (ANI): Political leaders from various parties are making their last attempt to woo voters in their favour, as campaigning for the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections will come to an end today.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley will be campaigning in Shimla while Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal will be reaching out to voters in Kangra.

Former Union Cabinet Minister and Congress leader Virbhadra Singh, who was also five times Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, will be holding public meetings in Kullu and Bilaspur.

Elections in Himachal Pradesh are to take place on November 4 and the counting of votes will take place on December 20.

All 68 constituencies in the state will be voting in a single phase. Sixty companies of central paramilitary forces will be deployed on polling day.

The Himachal Pradesh State Assembly consists of 68 seats, 42 of which were won by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2007 elections.

BJP is making several attempts to seek another term for Dhumal, who is leading the campaign. (ANI)
